My History and Obsession for all things haunted.
Let me start off by saying that I LOVE the Haunted Mansion. Haunted Houses in general, but specifically the Haunted Mansion because it allowed me to actually experience a haunted house without sneaking into my nearest manor after hours (which actually sounds like fun).

Everything about it was perfect. Passing by the conservatory and looking at every intricate detail of the scenario. From the dead flowers riddled about the room, do the scene outdoors created with a green faded hue with the lifeless branches of trees.

And what about the dining room scene? I mean, time and time again I always hoped I would get stuck on the ride right at that spot so I could soak up the Pepper’s Ghost experience the Imagineers dreamed up. Knowing how difficult that must have been to line everything up just perfectly for an effect that still is perfection today.

Plus, the graveyard. The moment you go past the shaking groundskeeper and dog wimpering then darting my eyes around trying to absorb it all. It made me want to be an Imagineer or work in the theme park industry for that matter.

I wanted to bring the next level of these experiences to life. So here I am…

Present Day:

So now, fast forward to now and I am left with this challenge. Can I begin to build an experience that will allow me to explore a Haunted House from anywhere in the world? And the answer is yes.

Using AR/XR and a wide variety of programs, I’ve begun to test building pop-up experiences that allow you to walk inside a Haunted Mansion from anywhere in the world. Give it a try Here.

In this updated test, I am attempting to push the file size restraints. More memory = better experience of course.
